Alyssa Smith is a committed public health professional and emerging project management leader dedicated to improving community health through data-driven solutions and collaborative partnerships. Born and raised in Windsor, Connecticut as a first-generation eldest daughter of Jamaican parents, Alyssa’s passion for public service and community empowerment is deeply rooted in her cultural heritage and lived experiences. She holds a Master of Public Health from George Washington University and is currently pursuing her MBA at Indiana University–Indianapolis, strengthening her leadership, strategy, and business acumen in the health and human services sector.
Alyssa works on strategic public health initiatives focused on reducing disparities, strengthening organizational capacity, and supporting communities across Indiana. Her experience includes research and analysis, grant and program management, dashboard development, stakeholder engagement, and facilitating training and technical assistance, as well as supporting coalition-based, community-centered programming. She brings a structured, data-informed approach to her work and holds a Certified Associate in Project Management (CAPM) credential from the Project Management Institute.
In addition to her professional expertise, Alyssa is passionate about mentorship and community engagement. She is an active volunteer with Big Brothers Big Sisters of Central Indiana and draws on her personal experience planning events for close friends and family to bring care, creativity, and connection into the work she does. With a blend of technical expertise, cultural insight, and a heart for service, Alyssa is committed to shaping healthier, more supportive environments for all communities.
