Ninjia (Nye-Juh) Miles is a fundraising leader who builds power with and for communities whose expertise spans individual giving, major gifts, and corporate, foundation, and government fundraising. With a strong commitment to equity and community voice, she believes in tailoring fundraising strategies to meet the unique needs of organizations and donors, fostering outcomes that are both impactful and sustainable. Ninjia currently serves as the Director of Development, Black Philanthropy at the Indiana University Foundation, leading strategies that deepen engagement among Black alumni and friends, strengthen affinity-based giving, and advance institutional priorities. She is also the Founder and Principal of Bloom Philanthropy, a consulting firm that partners with nonprofits and small businesses to build sustainable fundraising systems, train boards, and design development strategies aligned with each organization’s mission and capacity. Throughout her career, she has helped organizations secure millions in philanthropic support, emphasizing ambitious goals and meaningful, long-term donor relationships.
Ninjia is deeply involved in community leadership and governance. She serves on the boards of Reach For Youth, Indy Black Professionals, and the Association of Fundraising Professionals (AFP) Indiana Chapter, and is a member of the African American Legacy Fund of Indianapolis. Her work consistently centers organizations and initiatives that prioritize community, belonging, and long-term impact. Ninjia holds a Bachelor’s degree in Sociology from Centenary College of Louisiana and a Master of Public Affairs (MPA) in Nonprofit Management from the Indiana University O’Neill School of Public and Environmental Affairs. She also earned a Certificate in Fund Raising Management (CFRM) from The Fund Raising School and maintains the Certified Fund Raising Executive (CFRE) credential, underscoring her commitment to the highest ethical and professional standards in fundraising. A proud member of Class XLIX of the Stanley K. Lacy Executive Leadership Series, Ninjia is recognized as a trusted partner and leader in the philanthropic community, dedicated to advancing the missions of organizations that center community, equity, and lasting impact.
