MPU Greater Boston – Rucking Cross Fells Trail on Veterans Day

Cross Fells Trail

The +MPU Greater Boston Brickyard will be rucking the Cross Fells Trail on Veterans Day to make new connections and honor the sacrifices of our veteran community. We’ll also be packing out whatever trash we find along the way.

The Cross Fells Trail in Middlesex Fells is a 9.1-mile out and back hike with ~1,000 feet of elevation gain. We’ll meet at the trailhead in Melrose at 9:00am, do a quick round of ice breakers, distribute weights (in this case, extra water), then start rucking! Expect beautiful pools, Autumn leaves and sweeping vistas 🙂

What to bring:

  • Backpack
  • Water
  • Snacks
  • Sunscreen
  • Bug spray
  • Hat / sunglasses

Safety:

  • Cross Fells Trail is rocky and can be slippery this time of year, especially after a rain. We’ll go slow since we’re carrying weighted bags and will be ready to provide first-aid for sprains, strains or fractures.
  • There is cellular coverage throughout Middlesex Fells.
  • Cross Fells Trail has regular location markers and access roads to simplify rescue.

About the Boston Chapter

Across cities and towns just like yours nationwide, we serve our communities by starting with bringing different neighbors together for events centered around Service, Leadership, and Civics.

By rolling up our sleeves side-by-side, we can begin to see that we have more in common than what divides us; that first and foremost we are fellow Americans with a common love for our families and communities.

These Chapters – also known as our Brickyards – are mobile places for neighbors to connect and solve local problems. We do this through respectful and open conversations, and to find higher ground as we work together brick-by-brick.
