+More Perfect Union D.C.-Area Event: Civic Outlook of Young Adults

Martin Luther King Jr. Memorial Library - DC Public Library

For our next event, we’re teaming up with a wonderful leader from the Institute for Citizens and Scholars who will share insights from their recent survey on the civic readiness of a nationally representative survey of 18-24-year-olds – The Civic Outlook of Young Adults in America. The results provide insight into young adults’ civic knowledge, civic engagement, and commitment to democracy — the three building blocks of civic readiness.

We’ll first focus our dialogue on the survey results, what they mean for our country, and what we can do to make positive improvements. We’ll then shift to structured small-group discussions over dinner (food is on us).

Additional details and confirmations will go out to all who register 1-2 days before the event.

About the Washington Chapter

Washington, D.C. has always been a place of compromise. Born as the beating heart of American democracy, D.C. has long been a symbol of what we can achieve when we come together, and what can go wrong when division takes the place of connectedness in our communities.

The D.C. Brickyard is led by Ben Bain, Jaelin Lespier, and Ryan Smither.
