+MPU Silicon Valley: STEM Kit Assembly with R.A.F.T.

Resource Area For Teaching - RAFT San Jose

+MPU Silicon Valley STEM Kit Assembly with R.A.F.T.

Join us for an exciting in-person event where we will be assembling STEM kits in collaboration with Resource Area for Teaching (R.A.F.T.),a nonprofit organization founded here in the Bay Area dedicated to providing S.T.E.M./S.T.E.A.M. based learning kits, hands on learning resources and other class room supplies at affordable prices to those within the teaching and learning space.

RAFT receives donation materials and turns them into hands on learning kits for learners of all levels that aligns with national content standards. They create and provide the materials, building instructions, teachable content for learners to engage in hands on real world learning. In addition to providing these kits at affordable prices for educators, they also provide online access of blue prints to thousands of their leaning kits for free to those who do not have direct access to the R.A.F.T. Warehouse.

Volunteers are asked to work in a manufacturing line capacity. We may be asked to measure, cut, sort, assemble, count and/or package materials for creating these kits.!

This hands-on experience will take place at 1355 Ridder Park Dr, San Jose, CA 95131, USA.

About the Silicon Valley Chapter

Across cities and towns just like yours nationwide, we serve our communities by starting with bringing different neighbors together for events centered around Service, Leadership, and Civics.

By rolling up our sleeves side-by-side, we can begin to see that we have more in common than what divides us; that first and foremost we are fellow Americans with a common love for our families and communities.

These Chapters – also known as our Brickyards – are mobile places for neighbors to connect and solve local problems. We do this through respectful and open conversations, and to find higher ground as we work together brick-by-brick.

Our Silicon Valley Brickyard Chapter is led by Doug Seich and supported by Chance and Megan Smith.
