Sundays at Chapman: Showing Up for Miami’s Youth with Heart, Joy, and Purpose

There’s a special energy that fills the room every Sunday morning at Chapman Partnership. As the city begins to wake up, a dedicated group of More Perfect Union Miami volunteers gathers to bring presence, play, encouragement, and spiritual wellness to the incredible youth and families at Chapman.

At the heart of this effort is the dedicated leadership of Pastor Che Scott, a Miami native and community advocate, as well as a board member of the Florida Justice Institute. Pastor Che has strong roots in the city and provides a steady, compassionate presence at our weekly gatherings. His example reminds us that consistent care and genuine relationships can transform lives.

But Pastor Che isn’t alone. Each week, he is joined by a fantastic team of volunteers who come with joy, creativity, and a firm belief in Miami’s youth.

✨ Eileen Cruz Vale– utilizes her talents and gifts to create Christian music and welcomes everyone on Sunday mornings.

✨Rafael Then Gea– whose core mission revolves around fostering community engagement and mentorship, ensuring everyone feels connected.

✨ Gisela Rodriguez Grippa – A connector, advocate, and civic leader who brings warmth and purpose to every interaction. Her presence grounds our Sunday mornings in empathy, empowerment, and creativity. Gisela turns every Twister game into the most engaging play time I’ve ever seen.

✨ Eddy Rodriguez – An inspiring faith leader who uses storytelling, fitness, and community engagement to highlight the strength and brilliance of underrepresented voices. Eddy brings humor, depth, and heart to every gathering, plus he loves playing football with the kids.

Together, we create a space where kids can be kids, free to express themselves, explore, and feel seen. Some Sundays are filled with movement and laughter, while others are spent on art, reading, or engaging in meaningful conversation. But every Sunday, the children know they are loved and that we will be there for them.

Chapman Partnership is a pillar in our city’s response to homelessness, offering vital services to individuals and families in transition. Our weekly service is a small but meaningful extension of that care, rooted in consistency, dignity, love, and joy.

In March 2026, we’re going BIG. More Perfect Union Miami is partnering with Chapman Partnership and other local leaders to host a Youth Celebration Day at the Homestead Campus.

From performances and games to workshops and mentorship, this will be a moment to lift the voices and dreams of Miami’s next generation, and we’ll need all hands on deck to make it happen.
